• These terms are available in Chinese, Japanese, English and Korean. If the versions differ, the Chinese version prevails, unless mandatory law where you live says otherwise.

Welcome to VRChat Match ("the Platform", "we", "us"). These terms set out the rights and obligations between you and us when you visit, sign up for and use the Platform. When you create an account, we ask you to tick a box agreeing to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not sign up or use the features that need an account.

1. About the operator

VRChat Match is a community platform for VRChat players, created and maintained by an independent developer based in Australia. The Platform is run independently, not as a company, and does not currently offer paid memberships or commercial subscriptions.

2. What the Platform offers

The Platform helps VRChat players meet each other and play together. It currently offers:

• Profiles and tags: a nickname, avatar, tags, spoken languages and more, with recommendations of people you may click with based on tags;
• Posts: text, images and videos, with comments, likes and reposts;
• Friends, follows, direct messages and notifications;
• Worlds: sharing, recommending and rating VRChat worlds, and nominating and voting in world rankings;
• Events: creating and joining player events;
• Tools, such as the relationship chart;
• Anonymous ratings between friends;
• A translate button that uses your browser's built-in translation. The browser does the translation, and the content does not go through our server.

What is actually available depends on the features the website currently provides. Some features may be in testing and may change as the product evolves.

The Platform is not a dating agency or a counselling service, and it does not guarantee the safety of any online or offline activity.

3. Relationship with VRChat

VRChat Match is an independent third-party project. It is not owned by VRChat Inc. and has no official partnership, licence, sponsorship, endorsement or affiliation with VRChat Inc. The VRChat name, trademarks, logos and software belong to their respective owners.

What you do inside VRChat is also governed by VRChat's own terms of service and community guidelines. The Platform does not verify VRChat accounts and is not responsible for running VRChat's services.

4. Age requirements

• You must be at least 16 years old to sign up.
• If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian first.
• Your date of birth is required in your profile. Minors (16–17) and adults are kept apart: you only match with, add and message people in your own age group. Minors cannot choose "Partner" as a relationship goal and can only exchange direct messages with friends.
• If your date of birth was entered wrongly and needs to change from a minor to an adult age, email admin@vrchatmatch.com and we will change it after checking.

You must not knowingly enter a false date of birth, use someone else's identity, or otherwise get around the age requirements. If we find that a user does not meet the age requirements, we may restrict, suspend or close the account and handle the related information as described in the Privacy Policy.

5. Your account

• You need an email address that can receive mail; we send a verification code to confirm it is yours.
• Choose a strong password and keep it safe.
• Do not impersonate others or use someone else's VRChat account, and do not create accounts in bulk, sell, rent or share accounts, or get around the Platform's security and permission controls.
• If your account is compromised or you notice any other security problem, email admin@vrchatmatch.com as soon as possible.

6. Profiles and matching

Most profile fields are optional. Some are visible to other users; for gender, preferred genders and birthday you choose whether to show them. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Recommendations are calculated only from information you fill in yourself, such as tags, languages and time zone. They are meant to help you find people with shared interests. They are not an identity check or an assessment of anyone, and we do not guarantee that you will find friends, teammates or a partner. It is up to you whether to connect with someone. Please do not rely on recommendations alone when making decisions involving money, personal safety or other important interests.

7. Content you post

You may post text, images, videos, world descriptions, events, ratings and other content, and you are responsible for making sure it is lawful and accurate. You agree:

1. not to infringe anyone's copyright, trademarks, portrait rights, privacy or other legal rights;
2. not to reveal anyone's real name, contact details, address or other private information without their consent;
3. not to post fake events, scams, harassment or deliberately misleading content;
4. not to upload game assets, images, models or other protected works without permission;
5. not to impersonate VRChat staff, administrators of the Platform or other users.

You keep the intellectual property in your content. To run the Platform, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence, limited to what is needed to operate the Platform, to store, process, copy, display and transmit your content within the audience you choose. This does not give us ownership of your content, and we will not use it for commercial purposes unrelated to the Platform or to train artificial intelligence models.

When you delete a post or comment, other users can no longer see it. A deletion record stays in the database for handling reports and disputes; see the Privacy Policy.

8. Worlds, ratings and rankings

When sharing a VRChat world, please keep its name, description and images as accurate as you can. Rate, recommend and vote honestly. Do not inflate scores or votes or make up experiences.

The Platform does not own or manage these VRChat worlds and does not guarantee that they stay available, or vouch for their content or experience.

9. Events

Organisers must describe the time, rules and requirements of their events truthfully and must not use events for scams, harassment or illegal trading. Participants should follow the event rules and judge for themselves the risks of interacting with others.

Unless an event page clearly says the Platform is organising it, events created by users are not official events of the Platform. The Platform only provides tools for publishing information and communicating; it is not the organiser, guarantor or safety supervisor. We may take appropriate action if we find fraud or a safety risk. This section does not exclude any liability the Platform has under law.

10. Community rules

When using the Platform, please follow the Community Guidelines. The list below sets out the minimum requirements.

On the Platform you must not:

• harass, intimidate, threaten, stalk or personally attack others;
• post hate speech or discriminatory content;
• post sexual content involving minors or any other illegal content;
• share anyone's intimate images or private information without consent;
• scam, phish, spam or engage in abusive marketing;
• spread malware or dangerous links;
• attack the Platform or exploit vulnerabilities;
• scrape, bulk-export or sell user data without permission;
• manipulate recommendations, ratings, votes, sign-ups or other mechanisms;
• do anything else that breaks the law or these terms.

11. Reports and enforcement

You can report posts, comments, users, events, worlds, messages, ratings and relationship charts on the website, or email admin@vrchatmatch.com with reports, appeals or copyright complaints. Please include the page address, the accounts involved and what happened.

Depending on how serious a violation is, we may issue a warning, remove or hide content, suspend or ban the account, or provide necessary information to the authorities when the law requires it. We try to keep our response proportionate to the violation.

Suspensions last 7 or 30 days and end automatically. After we act, we will tell you through an on-site notification what we did and which part of the Community Guidelines was broken; if your account is suspended or banned, the login page will tell you why. To appeal, email admin@vrchatmatch.com.

12. Third-party websites

The Platform may link to VRChat, event pages or other websites. Those websites have their own terms and privacy rules, which we do not control. A link does not mean we endorse their content.

Apps in the app market are submitted by users and only link to GitHub or an official website. We do not host these programs or check the programs themselves, and we are not responsible for the consequences of downloading, installing or using them. Please judge for yourself whether a source is trustworthy before downloading.

13. Fees

The Platform is currently completely free. If we add paid features in the future, we will explain the prices, payment methods, what is included, and the renewal, cancellation and refund rules before charging anything. You will never be moved to a paid plan without your explicit confirmation.

14. Intellectual property

The intellectual property in the Platform's software, interface design, mascot and original text belongs to its owners. Do not copy, sell or otherwise use them in an infringing way without permission. This does not limit any use permitted by law.

15. Changes, suspension and closing your account

We may maintain, update or adjust the service to keep it secure, improve features or comply with the law. We will announce major changes or a long-term shutdown on the website in advance where possible.

You can stop using the Platform at any time, and you can delete your account at any time on the "Settings" page. Deletion can't be undone. If you can't sign in, email admin@vrchatmatch.com from your registered email address and we will delete it for you. After your account is deleted, your data and content are handled as described in section 11 of the Privacy Policy.

16. Risks and liability

Online socialising, player events and user content all carry some risk. Be careful with links, trades, identity claims, invitations to meet and requests for money from people you do not know.

To the extent permitted by law, the Platform does not guarantee that other users' profiles, recommendations, events or external content are fully accurate or always available. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including your rights under consumer protection law and liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence.

17. Privacy

We handle your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy. Under the Privacy Policy you can access, correct or delete your personal information, or ask to close your account.

18. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms when the law changes or features are adjusted. For major changes that affect your rights, we will ask you to read and agree again the next time you open the website. For wording changes, we only update this page. Changes will not retroactively take away rights you have already acquired under law.

19. Governing law and disputes

To the extent permitted by law, these terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. If a dispute arises, please email us first so we can try to resolve it. If that does not work, the dispute may be brought before a competent court or other dispute resolution body.

These terms do not exclude mandatory consumer protection or privacy laws of your country or region, or any rights you have under law that cannot be waived.
